Many poor nations in this world are still underdeveloped.  With the lack of technological advances, many of these nations cannot afford basic medical care. In modern times medical care and drugs have an extremely high cost. Lack of development in  poor nations is the reasoning for the lack of knowledge of the people living in those nations on the various diseases and infections that travel in those countries. 

The biggest issue is the spreading of Malaria in Africa. Mass population of people carrying Malaria can cause low economies, conflict and fills up hospitals. Lack of medical supplies is detrimental to the health of people in Sub-Saharan Africa.
